| Wow... I haven't updated this site in a very long time...
Since I last updated, I regained my 4.0 status, got a new laptop, joined pit orchestra for the school musical, Miss Saigon, exceeded 1400 songs on my iPod, learned how to swim proficiently, got a checking account, survived college applications, and got acceptances from them.
Here's the final count:
- Cal Poly--- accepted
- UC Berkeley--- accepted
- UC Davis--- accepted
- UC LA--- accepted
- Cornell--- accepted
- Harvey Mudd--- accepted
- Caltech--- waitlisted. I'll stay on the waiting list to see what happens.
- MIT--- REJECTED! Whatever... time has dulled my desire to go there. I would be in debt up to my eyeballs for life if I went.
Now I have to decide which college to attend. Most of them I'm not even considering. What a waste of money to send in the app if I wasn't going to attend anyway. The only colleges I would go to are Cal Poly, Harvey Mudd, and UCLA. I want to go to Harvey Mudd more because they're more selective; therefore the people should be nerdier and smarter--- I don't want to go to a college where the people are dumb, to put it bluntly. The main reason I enjoyed my stay at Lowell is the people. Although not everyone is smart there, most are knowledgable and the nerd culture thrives at Lowell. Gotta go somewhere like that. But not Berkeley. Too close to home.
Other than colleges, I'm finally going to a rock concert! Arcade Fire June 1 at the Greek Theatre!!! So excited. Arcade Fire has shot to the top of my list of favorite bands and I'm glad to have tickets to their show. Next time Interpol has a tour date in SF, I'm totally going. They're releasing their new album June 6!
As for today, I had the laziest day ever. I slept in, played Sims 2 for about 4 hours, and then watched several episodes of Grey's Anatomy. That show is pretty good, though the hospital can't have THAT much drama and sleeping around. The only productive thing I did today was do the Calc practice AP problems. The FRQs aren't that bad, but the last problem about Euler's method has got me stuck. I forgot how to do it. I still have a ton of crap for school to do, such as 3 group projects due after the break, which is a personal record. |
